Dehradun: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday expressed confidence of forming the government in the state.

"The trends that are coming are in front of you. We are moving quickly in Uttar Pradesh also. A few of our seats are already clear and we are in the line for forming the government in Uttarakhand. I am hoping that we will form the government in Uttarakhand," said Nishank.

"The results that are coming out from Uttar Pradesh are also very important. I believe that we will come in full majority," he added.

Nishank further said the BJP banked on its development agenda in Uttarakhand.

A neck-and-neck battle between the BJP and Congress is on in Uttarakhand for the 70-member legislative assembly.

As per the latest trend in Uttarakhand, the Congress is leading in 31 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 26 seats. (ANI)
