Verdict acquitting Jayalalithaa defeats anti-corruption law's aim: Karnataka govt

The Karnataka government on Tuesday sought the reversal of its state high court verdict acquitting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in a corruption case, saying that her exoneration defeats the mandate of Prevention of Corruption Act.

'Multi-state cooperatives are under ambit of anti-graft law'

Officials of multi-state cooperative societies like KRIBHCO and IFFCO are under the ambit of anti-corruption law and they can be probed on graft charges, the government said Thursday.
