India's first astronomical satellite ASTROSAT transported to Sriharikota

ASTROSAT, India's first astronomical satellite aimed at studying distant celestial objects, has been transported to the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh for expected launch in September.

India to launch Astrosat in 2015

After the successful launch of Mars Orbiter and two navigation satellites, India is developing an astronomical satellite- Astrosat. This satellite will be used to study stars and other celestial bodies and is expected to launch in 2015.
