The top manager in Iraq of the notorious private security firm Blackwater threatened to kill a US State Department investigator for probing the company`s performance, the New York Times reported today.

connection with a civil lawsuit alleging the company
repeatedly billed the US govt for excessive or
US Defence Secretary Robert Gates is concerned about possible misconduct in Afghanistan by the private security firm formerly known as Blackwater and has promised to review the issue, the Pentagon said.
The US Justice Department is investigating whether officials of security firm Blackwater Worldwide tried to bribe Iraqi government officials in hopes of retaining the firm’s work in Iraq, The New York Times reported.
