Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) Thursday told the National Green Tribunal that groundwater level in Noida is under "stress" and recommended cap on number of houses being owned by individuals.
The National Green Tribunal on Thursday directed all unauthorised borewell units operating without its consent in Bawana and Narela industrial areas here to apply according to norms by September 30.
Delhi government on Thursday told the National Green tribunal that it has sealed 1,155 illegal borewells, out of 6,305 industrial units surveyed till August 31 in Bawana and Narela Industrial area here.
For water, Gurgaon depends on Basai Canal, which in turn gets water from the Western Yamuna Canal.
National Green Tribunal (NGT) restrained all the builders in Noida and Greater Noida from extracting any quantity of underground water for the purposes of construction or otherwise till January 24.
