ISRO had given a project to IIT Kanpur to develop a rover to be launched with Chandrayaan-II, which the university`s scientists completed in 2010, but the space agency was yet to pick it up and make part payment to the institute, according to its professor.
Chandrayaan-II moon mission, which
will help in analysis of mineral composition and undertake
terrain mapping of the moon, will be completed by 2012-13,
Project Director of Chandrayaan Dr M Annadurai said on Saturday.
With India`s maiden Moon mission making a path-breaking discovery about water presence on lunar surface, the objectives of Chandrayaan-II would be modified for further probes into that aspect, ISRO Chairman Nair said on Monday.
