Centre on Monday began the selection process for Chief of Central Vigilance Commission and sought applications from eligible candidates including serving and retired bureaucrats, besides private persons.

Candidates, who have been allocated IAS, IFS and IPS among others and are also appearing for this year`s civil services preliminary examination, cannot attend Foundation Course, the government has said.
The government Wednesday declined to give a time frame in Rajya Sabha for resolving the row over UPSC examination pattern but promised to solve it soon even as the Opposition targeted BJP ministers for coming out with different statements on the issue.
