The UPA government launched the direct cash benefit transfer scheme with political motives and without preparation, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in the Rajya Sabha Wednesday, causing an uproar in the house.
Delhi Government on Friday announced that it would add all nine centrally-sponsored schemes relevant to the capital on the Aadhar-enable Direct Cash Transfer scheme by April this year.
The UPA government on Monday said it has not violated any poll code by announcing the direct cash transfer scheme on September 28.
The letter said that emphasis should be on having a seamless and trouble free roll-out of the programme, first in 51 districts and subsequently as per the agreed roll-out plan.
CPI(M) Thursday lambasted Congress for "blatant misuse" of party symbol in announcing the direct cash transfer scheme, saying it could fall under "corrupt practice" under the election laws.
