Ancient flying reptile named after 'Avatar' creature

Scientists recently discovered fossils of a new flying reptile, which lived 120 millions years ago and named it 'ikrandraco avatar' due to it's closely resemblance with the creatures ridden in James Cameron's 2009 film 'Avatar.'

163 million years old flying reptile species discovered

Researchers have discovered and named the earliest and most primitive pterodactyloid - a group of flying reptiles that would go on to become the largest known flying creatures to have ever existed - and established they flew above the earth some 163 million years ago, longer than previously known.
