Irish abortion law changed – after Savita died

Ireland announced it will legalise abortions when the mother`s life is at risk, weeks after the death of Indian dentist Savita Halappanavar who died after being refused an abortion in the European country.

Abortion death: MEA summons Irish Ambassador

India on Friday summoned the Irish Ambassador to convey its "concern and angst" over the untimely and tragic death of an Indian dentist in Ireland and hoped the inquiry which has been instituted by that country would be "independent".
