Reiterating its strong opposition to the proposed 9,900-MW nuclear power plant in Jaitapur, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said his party would scrap the project if it is voted to power in the state after the October 15 assembly polls.
Environment Minister Jairam
Ramesh on Monday termed as "most unscientific approach" former
CJ of Delhi HC AP Shah`s remarks that the Jaitapur nuclear project would be a
catastrophe if all the safety concerns were not addressed.
In order to address the grievances of
villagers of Jaitapur, the site for the proposed 9,900 MW N-Power project in Ratnagiri, a People`s Tribunal on the
Safety, Viability and Cost Efficiency of N-Energy was set up.
