MCOCA court rejected the bail application of Paulson Joseph arrested in connection with the murder of senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.
Police had claimed that the scribe was eliminated at the behest of underworld don Chhota Rajan, who paid Rs five lakh
to the accused.
Jyotirmoy Dey, editor (Special Investigation), Mid-Day, who
extensively covered underworld and crime for over two decades,
was gunned down by four assailants in suburban Powai.
After his abrupt transfer, a senior
police officer, who could be questioned in the killing of
investigative journalist Jyotirmoy Dey, said he had
nothing to do with the murder and that allegations against him
The Press Club has demanded the resignation of state Home Minister RR Patil and Mumbai Police chief Arup Patnaik.
CM Prithviraj Chavan said there was no solid evidence yet to crack the case.
