A 450-kg bomb of World War II vintage was found three feet under the ground while digging for a lamp post near Kalaikunda air base in West Bengal, official sources said Saturday.
The eighth Indo-Singapore Joint Military Training between the Indian Air Force and Republic of Singapore Air Force, held annually at Air Force Station, Kalaikunda in West Bengal, concluded on Friday.
Maoists had plans to sabotage the
Kalaikunda airstrip of Indian Air Force to take "revenge" of
the killing of their leader Kishenji, police said.
Starting from October 14, the Air Force base at Kalaikunda will host the seventh IAF-RSAF JMT activities for 30 days.
