Heavy rains battered the Kerala capital and adjoining areas overnight, disrupting train services and bringing low-lying areas in the city and its outskirts under water.
A total of 22 persons have died so far and 374 villages in Kerala affected due to rain-related incidents since the onset of the monsoon.
South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at most places in Lakshadweep and at many places in Kerala.
In what can be said to be good news for our agricultural sector, the monsoons in India is likely to hit the South coast on June 01.
