Curfew was imposed early today in Khandwa after communal tension spread in the town over a post on a social networking site that allegedly hurt the feelings of a particular community and also led to the killing of a person, a police official said.
Seven children were killed and nine others, including adults and minors, were injured in neighbouring Burhanpur district when boundary wall of a religious place collapsed due to heavy rains, police said.
Tension prevailed in the Khalta block headquarters of Khandwa district after an idol at a temple there was allegedly found damaged, following which locals launched an agitation to demand arrest of the culprit, police said.
