Khap Panchayats on Saturday threatened to launch an agitation against Union Law Minister DV Sadananda Gowda for his comments terming Khaps as "unconstitutional" and demanded his removal from the Cabinet.

Amid the raging debate over the
authority of Khap panchayats, BJP today chose to tread
cautiously on the issue, favouring a consensus among political
parties to deal with the self-styled caste councils.
After his party colleague Navin
Jindal heaped praise on Khap panchayats, Mukul Wasnik today said while people have the right to vent their views in a democracy, no one can be allowed to violate the law of the land.
