The United Nations has
appointed a leading US lawyer to head an International Court
of Arbitration to settle the dispute between India and
Pakistan over Kishenganga hydro project.
UN Secretary General is among the international personalities who
will now decide on the three neutral umpires to settle the
dispute between India and Pakistan over the Kishenganga
hydro-power project in Jammu and Kashmir.
India and Pakistan today failed
to reach consensus on the names of three neutral umpires for
the International Court of Arbitration which will decide on
resolution of dispute over Kishenganga power project.
With the deadline for appointment of neutral umpires ending tomorrow, India and Pakistan have exchanged names of four experts each or the International Court of Arbitration to resolve the dispute over Kishenganga hydel project.Jul 15, 2010, 21:26 PM IST
Differences and disputes between
India and Pakistan on the Kishenganga project should be
addressed in line with the dispute-settlement mechanism in the
Indus Waters Treaty of 1960.
