Claiming that top Maoist leader Kishenji was killed in a "fake" shootout by the security forces, Magsaysay awardee author-activist Mahasweta Devi Friday said the government must probe and bring out the truth behind his death.
With the Centre warning of action
under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against civil
society representatives speaking in favour of naxals, social
activist and writer Mahasweta Devi dared Chidambaram to arrest her.
As the West Bengal government
insists that arrested PCPA leader Chhatradhar Mahato has links
with Maoists, Magsaysay awardee writer Mahasweta Devi on Tuesday
said she was not aware of his Maoist connections.
