Taking a serious view of the arrest of
a block development officer (BDO) red-handed while taking
bribe, Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Thursday said the
government will have a fresh look at the appointment of BDOs.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul
Sangma reviewed the security scenario in the ethnic-violence hit border areas of East Garo Hills district and instructed the administration to put up fixed security pickets at the vulnerable points.
Mukul Sangma was on Monday night
elected Congress Legislature Party Leader in Meghalaya and
would be sworn in as chief minister tomorrow after D D Lapang
was forced out of the top job by Congress dissidents.
