Gearing up for elections to 60-member assembly in Meghalaya slated early next year, state Cong on Wednesday shortlisted the names of 46 candidates.
Lyngdoh handed over to Cong Prez the replies to showcause notices served on five dissident Congress MLAs who want Chief Minister Mukut Mithi to go.
Amid a fresh rebellion within
the Congress, Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang on Saturday
admitted there was "pressure" by disgruntled MLAs seeking
accommodation in the Cabinet.
