Shiv Sena on Monday hit out at AIMIM for opposing Maharashtra government's decision to allot land for building memorials to historic figures and well-known personalities from the state, a move that the Muslim party has called a "waste of public money".
Ruling Samajwadi Party today took a dig at opposition BSP saying cracks had started appearing in the memorials built by the previous Mayawati regime as substandard material had been used in their construction.
Discovery of a memorial, believed to be built by Maoists, in a tribal hamlet of the district has triggered speculations that such structures might have come up in remote areas of the naxal-infested district in east Maharashtra.
The Comptroller and Auditor General
has slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for
incurring an "extra" expenditure of Rs 66 crore on her two
dream projects - B R Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram memorials here.
Castigating the Mayawati
government for "flagrant" violation of its orders to stop work
on memorials in Lucknow, the Supreme Court today said it was
ready for a confrontation if the state wanted it and initiated
contempt action against the Chief Secretary.
