Nepal re-opened hundreds of earthquake-damaged monuments at heritage sites on Monday, trying to draw visitors back to the Himalayan nation less than two months after two devastating tremors killed about 8,800 people.
A proposed garbage treatment plant near world-famous monuments in Goa, which are protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and visited by a large number of tourists, has drawn opposition from the locals.
In perhaps the first pact of its
kind, the Archaeological Survey of India and the Ahmedabad
Municipal Corporation on Thursday joined hands to preserve ancient
monuments and sites in the key Gujarat city.
