The monsoon session of Puducherry assembly adjourned sine die after adopting a resolution condoling the death of former AIADMK legislator P K Lokanathan and passing of a Bill tabled by the Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today asked the media to ensure that they presented in a `clear and correct` manner highlights of various schemes the territorial administration was evolving and implementing for betterment of the people at large.
Law and order became a major issue in Puducherry in 2013 and often triggered a war of words between Chief Minister N Rangasamy and Union minister V Narayanasamy, who represents the Union territory in Lok Sabha.
Virendra Kataria made critical observations about the law and order situation in the union territory of Puducherry, N Rangasamy said the former should have held a joint meeting of officials with him before airing such views.
Puduchery Chief Minister N Rangasamy said he would write to the Centre demanding that India boycott the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Colombo in November, protesting against Lankan Tamils issue.
