Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday congratulated scientists of the ISRO for the successful launch of the Oceansat-2 satellite, saying it would "herald a new beginning in our understanding of the oceans".
Oceansat-2 satellite that would help
identify potential fishing zones and provide inputs for
weather forecasting is poised to be launched into orbit from the spaceport of
Sriharikota from here, on Wednesday.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would launch Oceansat-2 satellite, which would help identify potential fishing zones and in coastal zone studies, on September 23 in a mission that would have European flavour.
