The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected a PIL seeking directions to the Centre to block sites which provide information on or sell pre-natal sex determination kits, saying there is already a remedy available under the law.
Cracking its whip against the clinics conducting sex determination of foetuses in the capital, Delhi government has cancelled the registration of 43 radiology and genetic clinics and sealed 11 machines since April this year.
Concerned over declining child sex
ratio in the country, the National Commission for Women has
written to the government on the need to bridge the "gaps" in
the law for curbing pre-natal sex determination.
