Pakistan's Supreme Court on Monday adjourned till October 2 the hearing of a plea to disqualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for allegedly lying to the parliament over asking the army to mediate a truce with anti- government protesters.

Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry on Wednesday said a larger bench hearing
challenges to a constitutional reforms package would deliver a
verdict that will scuttle the possibility of unconstitutional
actions in future.
A 17-member bench of Pakistan`s Supreme Court will take up on May 25 a petition filed by the government seeking a review of the court`s verdict annulling a graft amnesty that benefited President Zardari and thousands of others.
