India Friday released 37 Pakistani prisoners lodged in Indian jails, reciprocating the gesture made by the Pakistani government earlier. The Pakistani prisoners, including 32 fishermen, have reached home.
The tension, which gripped high security Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu after Pakistani prisoners went on a fast to protest the death of Sanaullah Ranjay, ended on Friday after they had their afternoon meals.
Firming up confidence building
measures, India repatriated 91 Pak prisoners, including
87 fishermen, at the Amritsar-Wagah Border today on the eve of
crucial talks between the Foreign Ministers of both the
nations in New Delhi.
In a goodwill gesture, India on Monday released 39 Pakistani nationals, including two women, from
different jails across the country and repatriated them to
Pakistan through the land route of Indo-Pak Attari border.
