The Delhi High Court on Tuesday
asked veteran Congress leader N D Tiwari to appear before it
on June 1 and give his blood samples for DNA test to ascertain
a 31-year-old man`s claim that he is his biological son.
The Supreme Court has held that DNA test in a paternity suit cannot be ordered by courts in a routine manner but should be directed only in exceptional cases as it would otherwise be an invasion of a person`s privacy.
N D Tiwari today moved the Supreme
Court challenging the Delhi High Court`s order which had
dismissed his plea and decided to adjudicate a paternity suit
filed by a man claiming him to be his biological son.
