In an interim relief to the beleaguered RJD MP Prabhunath Singh, a court in Bihar`s Saran district Friday stayed his arrest till May 19 in connection with two FIRs lodged against him for poll-related offences.
RJD MP Prabhunath Singh is in trouble after he reportedly threatened Saran`s District Magistrate-cum-returning officer Kundan Kumar, reports said on Wednesday. Singh was caught on camera making the threat.
An FIR was on Thursday lodged against RJD MP Prabhunath Singh and his supporters under sections of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 for poll-related offence in Bihar`s Saran district, official sources said.
RJD received a shot in the arm ahead of the assembly polls in Bihar with rebel JD(U) leader Prabhunath Singh, once bitter critic of Lalu Prasad, joining the party with a large number of his supporters at a Janata Mahapanchayat.
