Congress today launched a scathing attack on the NDA government over price rise and ridiculed Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan for attributing food inflation to hoarding and other reasons.
Citing public data to substantiate
its contention, BJP on Thursday said the government`s argument that
petro prices had to be hiked as the public sector oil
companies were facing losses was far from truth.
Holding protests across the country against fuel price hike and seeking its immediate
roll-back, BJP on Saturday accused the government of being "insensitive to the sufferings of the common man" and imposing "economic Emergency".
Criticising the Congress-led UPA
government for hiking the price of petrol, BSP chief Mayawati
on Wednesday said the party would observe a day-long bandh in Uttar
Pradesh on May 31 to protest the steep hike.
In a bid to contain the pollution in the capital city the state government raised the VAT of diesel cars by upto 12.5 percent. The hike was proposed by Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit in her State Budget speech Tuesday here.
