Two Sri Lankan nationals, undergoing life imprisonment in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, have filed habeas corpus pleas in the Madras High Court, challenging their incarceration, after completing 20 years in prison.
The DMK was indirectly behind the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said on Tuesday.
The Madras High Court on Tuesday issued
notice to the Tamil Nadu government on a petition filed by
Nalini, a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case,
who has sought premature release.
