Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul
Sangma on Monday said the state government would urge Centre to
institute a CBI inquiry into the clash and police firing at
Langpih, the disputed area in Assam-Meghalaya border.
Mukul Sangma was sworn in as the
22nd Chief Minister of Meghalaya on his 45th birthday on Tuesday, a
day after DD Lapang quit the top job capping a month-long
rebellion by a majority of the 28 Congress legislators.
Taking strong exception to senior NCP leader and former Speaker P A Sangma`s comment that a Prime Minister should be a member from the Lok Sabha, Meghalaya Congress today said such remarks are an indication of is "frustration".
Senior NCP leader and former Speaker
P A Sangma, who was once in the lead in raising the issue of Sonia Gandhi`s foreign origin, is now critical that Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh is not from Lok Sabha.
