The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought response from the CBI on a petition filed by NCSC Chairman Buta Singh accusing the probe agency of illegally summoning him for interrogation in an alleged bribery case involving his son.
The Bombay HC restrained the police from arresting Ramrao Patil, who had
filed a complaint against former union minister Buta Singh`s
son Sarobjit accusing him of demanding bribe, in connection
with a cheating case.
A team of Nashik police which is here
to take custody of contractor Ramrao Patil, who blew the lid
off Sarobjit Singh`s alleged bribe demand, will now have to
wait for some more days as CBI is recording his statement.
In further trouble for Buta
Singh`s son Sarobjit, arrested in an alleged corruption case,
Delhi Police today said it has no records about the three
firearms recovered from the accused`s residence here.
Chairman of the NCSC Buta Singh could be heading for trouble with Congress saying it was for the government to decide on his continuance as head of the Commission after CBI arrested his son Sarobjit Singh in a corruption case.
