A schoolboy was mowed down by a speeding truck in Uttar Pradesh`s Fatehpur district Friday, sparking violence as mobs clashed with police, damaged vehicles and blocked a highway to protest the death, officials said.
The Allahabad High Court asked the city police to lodge
an FIR against two constables posted at a checkpost on the
outskirts who had allegedly allowed the vehicle to pass
through even after "no entry" had come into force.
Search operations for the six-year-old school boy, who was kidnapped here on Monday, have been stepped up with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressing displeasure as the boy could not be traced for the fourth day Thursday.
