Angry over Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's comments to allegedly "demean" Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Maharashtra BJP unit on Sunday said its workers do not want any further seat-sharing talks between the two alliance partners for the next month's Assembly polls.
In the run up to the Maharashtra Assembly elections to be held this year, all major political parties in the state have started flexing their muscles over the number of seats they want to contest and conquer.
Intending to contest 200 of 243
seats in Bihar, the three major left parties in Bihar today
announced seat-sharing pact for 130 assembly constituencies
and said talks were still underway for sorting out the rest.
With Bihar Assembly elections fast approaching, ruling NDA partners and Opposition RJD-LJP alliance are likely to find the issue of seat-sharing a thorny
affair with major partners eyeing the lion`s share.
Rejecting demands by a section of
Congress that it should have no truck with Trinamool in next
month`s municipal elections, the West Bengal Congress today
said talks will continue with the ally on seat-sharing.
Congress and NCP Thursday continued negotiation to evolve a consensus over certain seats on which both of them have staked claim as the two ruling coalition partners appeared close to clinching a pact for the Oct 13 polls.
With the two ruling coalition
partners in Maharashtra yet to open seat sharing talks for
assembly polls, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said he wants an
alliance with the Congress and that it must act quickly.
