The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) headed by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on Sunday decided that this year's pilgrimage to the cave shrine would start from July 2 and the duration would be for 59 days.
Senior police officers met here on Thursday to review security arrangements for the forthcoming annual Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine in Himalayan heights of Jammu and Kashmir. The yatra begins June 28.
As many as 422 outlets will be employed for the registration of pilgrims for this year`s Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to be held between June 28 and August 21, a senior official of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board said.
