Pak`s telecom operators lost Rs 450 million due to the blocking of mobile phones in 15 cities across the country that cut-off over 50 mn people.
The government has collected over
Rs 300 crore in penalties from new telecom service providers that failed to roll-out their networks within the stipulated timeframe after getting licences and spectrum.
The government earned Rs 8,307.85
crore from mobile telecom operators by way of licence fees in
2008-09, Parliament was informed on Monday.
Govt is mulling allowing telecom operators to share spectrum among themselves to overcome frequency shortage.
