Congress on Tuesday described as "strange and worrisome" the special CBI court discharging BJP chief Amit Shah in Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter killing case and alleged that there was "government pressure" on a "chained, caged and totally immobilised" CBI.
The special CBI court on Tuesday reserved its order on the discharge application filed by BJP president Amit Shah in connection with the alleged fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati.
BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday filed an application seeking exemption from appearance in the court here, which is hearing the cases related to encounter killings of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati, till his discharge application is heard.
The special CBI court here, which is hearing the cases related to police encounter killings of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati, on Monday rejected the bail application of a former officer of Rajasthan police.
A sessions court here on Monday adjourned till July 24 the hearing on a discharge application filed by BJP leader Amit Shah in connection with the alleged fake encounter cases of Tulsiram Prajapati and Sohrabuddin Sheikh.
The stage appeared set for a fresh round of political slug fest after the Congress party, Tuesday, demanded the resignation of Modi over allegations that the BJP tried to impede investigation in the Prajapati fake encounter case.
