An under-trial lodged in the central prison here escaped from police custody while being taken to a local court for hearing, police said Tuesday.
The Madras High Court set aside an
order of detention under the Goondas Act of a person whose age
was initially recorded as 15 by authorities before he was
recorded as a 21-year-old in another case the very next year.
Sensing foul-play, a CBI court
here on Saturday asked doctors, who performed the post-mortem of
85-year-old undertrial, to present before the court all the
relevant documents related to his ailment.
