Monsoon was active across parts of northern India on Friday where one more person was killed in a rain-related mishap in Uttar Pradesh.
Moderate rain and thundershowers on Wednesday occurred in many parts of Uttar Pradesh where rivers Ganga, and Ghaghra were flowing near the danger mark.
With heavy rainfall lashing various parts of Uttar Pradesh during the past 24 hours, water level in major rivers including Ganga, Sharda and Ghaghra, continued to rise, putting the authorities on alert.
Six persons, including three children, were killed in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh even as the state received heavy downpour, officials said on Friday.
At least 28 people have so far lost their lives in rain related incidents in Uttar Pradesh whereas a population of five lakh in some 600 villages of the state has been affected because of it.
Moderate to heavy rains occurred at most places in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
