Meghalaya Government is
contemplating on offering Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) to
some 15,000 `untrained` teachers in the state, most of them
without even minimum qualifications, Governor R S Mooshahary
said on Thursday.

A government employee is entitled
to continue in service if he withdraws the voluntary
retirement notice before the date of his actual release, the
Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has held.
An employee has no inherent
right to "voluntary retirement" as the same is subject to the
rules framed by the employer governing the scheme, the Supreme
Court has ruled.
Over 100 pilots of the Indian
Air Force (IAF) have applied of Voluntary Retirement Scheme
(VRS), Air Chief Marshal P V Naik said here on Wednesday.
