Contract for the procurement of helicopters for the conveyance of VVIPs is following the now familiar path. Like all major defence deals, it is getting mired in allegations of gross irregularities and wrongdoings.
Forging signatures has become so
easy that fraudsters even dared to duplicate those of former
presidents and prime ministers, including late Giani Zail
Singh and Indira Gandhi, for personal benefits, forensic
experts have claimed.
Reacting angrily to reports that the government proposed to curtail security cover of VVIPs, RJD leader Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said Home Minister P Chindambaram "will be responsible" if anything happens to them.
