The third day of the 100-hour Dima Hasao bandh was marred by violence as at least 15 persons, including a woman police officer, were injured in a clash between the police and bandh supporters at Mahur railway station, the police said.
Normal life was partially affected in several districts of the state following
a bandh sponsored by the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam in protest against the killing of its President Bosco Charmaco.
Violence erupted in minority-
dominated areas in lower Assam during a statewide bandh called to protest the death of four students in police firing as the
government temporarily suspended update of the NRC.
The Assam bandh called by human
rights org `MASS` in protest against the verdict of a local court here "acquitting" Mridul Phukan, prime accused in the murder of noted journalist Parag Das affected normal life in the state.
