Early human ancestors spent longer time on trees than thought

Early human ancestors spent longer time on trees than previously thought, remaining very active climbers till much later, a new study has found.

Foot fossil indicates `another human relative was present at time of Lucy`

The fossil foot did not belong to a member of “Lucy’s” species, Australopithecus afarensis, the famous early human ancestor.

Fossil shows Lucy co-existed with another prehuman species

Lucy, it turns out, had company -- another prehuman that also walked but spent more of its time in trees.
