The Supreme Court today granted
bail to three officials of the BALCO, Chattisgarh, charged with culpable homicide not
amounting to murder for the death of over 40 workers in the
company`s chimney plant in November last year.
Two engineers of a private construction firm were arrested Saturday for their alleged role in last year`s chimney collapse at the Bharat Aluminum Company Limited power plant in which 40 people were killed, police said here.

Dozens of Chinese nationals working at Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd in Chhattisgarh`s Korba town are reported to have fled fearing attacks by locals after an under-construction chimney at the plant collapsed on Wednesday.
Atleast fifteen people lost their lives when an under construction chimney at the Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd (Balco) site here collapsed. All the deceased are reported to be labourers working at the site.
