The principal of La Martiniere School and four other teachers have been arrested by WB police.The principal and three teachers
of the La Martiniere school for boys, who were arrested this
morning in connection with the death of 13-year-old student
Rouvanjit Rawla, were granted bail by a court here but police
said the charge was not abetment to suicide.
Six months after Class 8 student Rouvanjit Rowla hanged himself following a humiliating caning by the principal, teachers in West Bengal have not stopped thrashing students, with some even causing serious injuries.
The Calcutta High Court today
rejected the anticipatory bail prayer of Ramesh Bhattacharya,
who was charged with impersonation for visiting La Martiniere
for Boys school here claiming to be representing the Union HRD
The Church of North India (CNI)`s
Kolkata Diocese, which runs La Martinere School for Boys here,
today claimed the caning of Rouvanjit Rawla by the Principal
had no connection with the student`s suicide.
