Uttar Pradesh police have so far released as many as 1,087 people, including senior VHP leaders, of a total of 2,674 who were arrested in connection with the Ayodhya yatra.
VHP president Ashok Singhal expressed his anguish over the arrests of VHP leaders, and activists and slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for stopping the yatra claiming that the saints have the right to go to Ayodhya.
