US develops bird flu vaccine fully effective on chicken

Scientists are developing a vaccine that has already tested 100 percent effective in protecting chickens from bird flu but is yet to be tested on other birds including turkeys, US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said.

'Need to study link between broilers and cancer'

The Goa chapter of the Indian Medical Association is in talks with the state drug controller for a study which could link consumption of commercially reared chicken called 'broilers' to the rise of cancer and hormonal imbalance, a spokesperson of the association said on Wednesday.
