India Wednesday made it mandatory for tobacco companies to devote 85 percent space on packets of cigarettes and other tobacco products to warnings against the ill effects of tobacco consumption.
Researchers suggest that the US would have several million fewer smokers if graphic warning labels similar to those introduced in Canada nearly a decade ago were imposed on cigarette packs.
Something as simple as the color of a cigarette packet can dupe smokers into thinking the cigarettes it contains are less dangerous to their health, a study showed.
