Delhi, reeling under high temperatures and an acute electricity shortage, will get additional gas supplies from NTPC and Dabhol to increase power generation and help meet demand in the national capital.
Alleging that Centre was `discriminating` against Gujarat in allocating gas, state government said it resulted in loss of Rs 340 crore in past 2 years and closing of gas-based Dhuvaran power station.
The Dabhol power plant on Wednesday started buying natural gas from Reliance Industries to cut electricity generation cost at the country`s largest gas-fired unit.
The government has more than
doubled the allocation of natural gas from Reliance
Industries` KG fields to the beleaguered Dabhol power plant,
which is likely to begin drawing the fuel from next month.
